Liverpool are reportedly examining the prospect of Union SG star Mohamed Amoura – who also drawn interest from Brighton among other clubs.

It is set to be a summer of change at Liverpool at the end of the season.

Jurgen Klopp will bid goodbye to Anfield after nine trophy-laden years at the club, with plenty of his staff members set to follow him out the door.

It is not only staff members that are departing but certain players will likewise exit the club at the end of the campaign.

Joel Matip and Thiago have both suffered with injuries this term and it would be difficult to see their contracts renewed.

Third-choice ‘keeper Adrian will also bid farewell to Anfield come the end of the season.

Fabrizio Romano has already confirmed that the Reds will be looking for a winger this in the summer.

And it seems that Mohamed Amoura has caught the attention of Liverpool despite playing as a No.9 this season.

Who is Mohamed Amoura and why is he linked with Liverpool?

Some Liverpool fans will no doubt be familiar with Amoura with the Reds having played Union SG twice in the Europa League group stage.

The 23-year-old scored against Liverpool in the home leg against Klopp’s men, scoring the first goal in a 2-1 win over a young Liverpool side.

But that is not the only goal he has scored this season in what has been an impressive campaign for the Algerian.

The pacey forward, playing upfront with a striker partner on most occasions, has 23 goals and 7 assists to his name.

French outlet L’Equipe has reported that Brighton, Olympique Marseille, and Liverpool are looking at Amoura ahead of the summer.

Marseille has shown interest in the 23-year-old player, however, the report indicates that they will face significant challenges due to competition from clubs in England and Germany.

According to L’Equipe, Roberto De Zerbi’s team holds a ‘priority option’ to sign Amoura due to their strong connections with the Belgian club, where Brighton’s owner, Tony Bloom, holds an ownership stake in Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

However, Liverpool has also shown more ‘recent interest’ in Amoura, suggesting that the Anfield club is somewhat serious about the player.

After a standout debut season with the Belgian club, Amoura’s contract, which extends until 2027, has seen his market value rise to €20 million.
