Liverpool had to battle against a number of things this weekend. It is clear what the Reds boss, Jürgen Klopp, felt about the early kick-off slot being handed to his side again, and there were injuries and suspensions to plan around as well. But with second-half goals from Andy Robertson and then that deflected effort from Liverpool did get its job done and retained third spot in the Premier League.

Liverpool will now have Virgil van Dijk back after his ban, and the likes of Stefan Baj?eti? and Trent Alexander-Arnold are a game nearer making a return.



Liverpool has already beaten the Midlands side but will hope it can take points off some rivals.



Being so abject to begin with against Wolves, Liverpool showed a level of resilience and ability to overcome peril that was missing last season.
