Liverpool will hold an event at the M&S Bank Arena later this month to recognise the achievements of manager Jurgen Klopp.

The club will host ‘An Evening with Jurgen Klopp & Special Guests' on Tuesday May 28 as they continue to pay tribute to the Reds boss, who is now just two games away from ending a decorated near-nine-year stay on Merseyside.

The event, which will see a Q&A with Klopp and LFCTV's Peter McDowall, will look to celebrate a trophy-laden era overseen by the manager since his October 2015 arrival, a period that saw the Reds win the Premier League, Champions League, two League Cups, the FA Cup and a first-ever Club World Cup in 2019.

Klopp’s final goodbye to supporters will be hosted by lifelong Liverpool supporter and comedian John Bishop and will feature performances from The Lightning Seeds and The Zutons, alongside others including award-winning singer Alfie Boe.

Klopp said: "This is going to be a very special night, with lots of fantastic memories shared and plenty of great music too.

I’m really looking forward to spending it with our fans, the heartbeat of this wonderful and unique club."

The Reds boss will be given a hero's send-off when his side entertain Wolves on the final day of the Premier League season on May 19 but the event at the M&S Arena is viewed as another way for supporters to give such a popular figure one final goodbye before he makes way for a new manager, expected to be Feyenoord coach Arne Slot.

It became home for us and that's pretty special and we feel really blessed and privileged we got that opportunity."

Having informed club owners Fenway Sports Group of his decision to step down in November, Klopp publicly announced he was leaving in late January, citing a lack of energy to continue with the demands of one of the leading clubs in European football after close to decade in the hotseat.
