Liverpool have officially signed Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, marking their most high-profile attacking addition of the transfer window (via Liverpool FC).
The 23-year-old forward completed his medical on Tuesday and signed personal terms, clearing the path for an immediate departure to join Arne Slot’s squad on their pre-season tour of Asia.
Ekitike’s arrival continues a busy and expensive summer for the Premier League champions, who had already secured deals for Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Giorgi Mamardashvili.
His move comes after Liverpool failed to secure Alexander Isak from Newcastle and pivoted to the prolific Frenchman instead.
The deal, worth £69m upfront and £10m in add-ons, makes Ekitike the club’s third-most expensive player ever, behind only Wirtz and Darwin Nunez.

He joins with high expectations, having also drawn interest from Chelsea and Manchester United earlier in the window.
Slot reportedly sees Ekitike as a perfect fit for his fluid front three, thanks to the Frenchman’s mobility, link-up play and creative threat.
Darwin Nunez continues to attract attention from Saudi Arabia and Italy, while Bayern Munich remain locked in negotiations for Luis Diaz.
