Liverpool have confirmed that Jayden Danns will join Sunderland until the end of the season.
However, he is set to miss a number of weeks of the loan move with an injury now preventing him from linking up with his new teammates at the Stadium of Light immediately.
“The striker will complete his rehabilitation on an injury at the AXA Training Centre before linking up with the Championship side for the remainder of 2024-25.”
It marks a frustrating spell for the 19-year-old, who suffered a stress fracture in his back during pre-season training in August – derailing the start of his campaign.
He would have likely been a candidate for a loan in the summer transfer window had it not been for that injury.
Danns made history by becoming the youngest Liverpool player to start a Champions League match, taking to the field against PSV last Wednesday.
