Liverpool has confirmed Trent Alexander-Arnold's move to Real Madrid has been completed in a deal worth up to £10 million ($13.5m).
The player's transfer to Los Blancos will be confirmed on Sunday when the summer market opens, with Real essentially buying out the final month of Alexander-Arnold's Liverpool contract.
Liverpool.com understands a one-off payment of €10M ($11.3M/£8.4M) has been made from Real, meaning the right-back will be available to play for his new club in Club World Cup which begins next month.
Xabi Alonso's side faces Al-Hilal on 18 June, before matches against Pachua and RB Salzburg.
A statement from the club read: "Liverpool FC can confirm an offer has been accepted for Trent Alexander-Arnold from Real Madrid for his transfer upon the opening of the June transfer window.
"The full-back is now set to join the La Liga club ahead of the expiry of his Reds contract this summer.
Liverpool will receive a fee for his services, with the deal to be concluded once the window opens on June 1.
"Alexander-Arnold joined the club’s Academy at the age of six and progressed through the ranks to make his senior competitive debut in October 2016.
"He now departs Anfield after 354 appearances and 23 goals for the club, as well as lifting eight major honours alongside his teammates, which consist of two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup and two League Cups.
"Alexander-Arnold leaves Liverpool FC with the club appreciative and grateful for his contribution to those successes."
The move to Real takes place 29 days before Alexander-Arnold's contract at Anfield was set to expire.
The Spanish side will also pay his wages for the month of June.
The transfer fee is seen as a major victory at Liverpool given Real's initial offer for Alexander-Arnold to move in June was around €1M ($1.1M/£0.85M).
But Reds were determined to protect the best interests of the club from the moment Real's interest first became apparent in December with a £20M offer to purchase the player in January.
Were it not for the Club World Cup, Alexander-Arnold would have joined Real for free this summer when his contract expires at the end of June.
The boyhood red confirmed his Liverpool exit on 5 May, playing two more games since that announcement.
He was booed after coming off the bench in the draw with Arsenal but was well received on Sunday in his final Liverpool appearance.
Alexander-Arnold was reduced to tears on the pitch at Anfield after the side's Premier League title-winning celebrations.
