Liverpool has announced Owen Beck has joined Derby County on a season-long loan.

The 22-year-old will link up with head coach John Eustace once again, having played under him at Blackburn Rovers last season.

Beck’s switch to the Midlands is a straight loan with no obligation to buy and he has also signed a new contract with Liverpool.

Eustace took over at Pride Park in February and led the side to safety in the Championship.

Asked about Beck’s arrival earlier this week, the ex-Coventry City and Watford defender told BBC Radio Derby: "He is a really exciting young player.

“I was very fortunate to work with him last year and everyone could see the growth he made playing in the Championship.

“He is a super, young, talented player and one of the most exciting full-backs in the country for his age at the moment.”

Beck played 25 times for Blackburn last season, but his campaign was curtailed in February due to injury.

The Welshman, who has made three senior appearances for Liverpool, also enjoyed spells on loan Dundee and Bolton Wanderers.

Beck was not named in the Liverpool squad that flew to Hong Kong but played in the Under-21s’ recent friendly win over Celtic.

The defender joined Liverpool in 2015 and is the great-nephew of club legend Ian Rush.

Beck is one of several youth-team moves expected in the coming weeks in the revamped new set-up under new coach Rob Page.

Dominic Corless has already left in a permanent deal, joining The New Saints, while Harvey Davies has signed for Crawley Town.

But other players such as James McConnell and Kaide Gordon are expected to leave on loan, while reports have indicated the likes of Lewis Koumas and Luca Stephenson could be set to depart as well.

Liverpool.com understands youngsters Trey Nyoni, Rio Ngumoha and Jayden Danns could have roles to play in the senior squad this season.
