After a two-week hiatus, Premier League football is finally set to return with Liverpool scheduled to make the trip to Vicarage Road to face Watford.

Liverpool wanted an additional forward option at the time, and links with Timo Werner and Diogo Jota emerged alongside Sarr, who had recently suffered relegation from England's top-flight.

The Hornets will be managed by a new face in Claudio Ranieri, and their attack will be led by a player who almost made the switch to Anfield last year in Ismaila Sarr.

So far this season, he's mainly been used on the right, meaning that he's likely to be up against Andy Robertson and Virgil van Dijk over the course of the weekend.

DANIEL STURRIDGE: The inside story of ex-Liverpool man's highs and lows from those who knew him best The Reds eventually opted for Jota and the Portuguese international has progressed to a new level since - scoring 12 times in the Premier League - but Sarr could still be of interest to Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp will hope to keep Sarr quiet from start to finish but at the same time, he could be eager to witness his level of performance given that Liverpool are still rumoured to be searching for an offensive addition ahead of next summer.

The Watford talisman is quick, energetic and penetrative with his running, and although he's capable as a winger, he's also shown to be comfortable in central areas over the past 12 months.
