Liverpool should push the boat out and sign Harry Kane to combat Man City’s Erling Haaland coup, and a pundit has explained why that’s not as outlandish as you might think.

Man City are on course to win their fourth domestic title in five years.

Liverpool have been their biggest rival over that time, breaking City’s dominance to lift their first Premier League trophy in the 2019/20 season.

Indeed, Borussia Dortmund hitman Erling Haaland is on course to grace the Premier League.

Details of City’s coup – including the full financial breakdown of the deal – can be found here.

But according to pundit Tony Cascarino, Liverpool should fight fire with fire and break the bank for Harry Kane.

“Signing Harry Kane would be the perfect way for Liverpool to respond to City’s capture of Haaland,” Cascarino wrote in the Times.
