Arne Slot's ruthlessness in the summer transfer window with Liverpool should come as no surprise, especially to Manchester United and Leeds United.

The Dutchman has shot out of the gate when it comes to signings after leading the club to the Premier League title in his first season in charge.

The Reds have already acquired Armin Pecsi from Puskas Akademia and Bayer Leverkusen duo Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, with the latter being signed for £100million plus add-ons of £16m.

With Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez also nearing a move to Anfield, it's been a busy window at Liverpool thus far for arrivals as Slot looks to match that business in regards to departures.

As Jarell Quansah closes in on a £35m to Leverkusen, the Reds could part ways with the likes of Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Harvey Elliott and Andy Robertson as Slot continues building the team in his image.

An overhaul of that many first team starters could be classed as being overwhelming for a head coach but Slot certainly has experience in the area, having carried out a similar strategy after his first season at Feyenoord.

After finishing third in his debut campaign with the Eredivisie giants, Slot sold several of his starters including Tyrell Malacia to Man United and Luis Sinisterra to Leeds.

He also sold defender Marco Senesi to Bournemouth while league top scorer Guus Till ended his loan spell before signing for rivals PSV.

Despite the departure of several of his big hitters, Slot's recruitment and coaching saw Feyenoord go on to win their first league title in five years.

The 46-year-old has made no qualms about only requiring the best players possible to play for Liverpool thanks to the standard set by Mohamed Salah.

Speaking earlier this year, he said: "If you want to play for Liverpool, you need to be at Mo Salah level.

Because this is one of, if not the best club in the world to play for!"

Despite the significant business already completed by Liverpool, the club continue their search to strengthen further with Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi and Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike reportedly liked by Anfield chiefs.

The Reds' deal for Wirtz has the potential to be the biggest the Premier League has ever seen with the fee and add-ons coming out to £1m more than the £115m Chelsea paid for Moises Caicedo.

Speaking after the move was completed, the German superstar told the club's official website: "I feel very happy and very proud.
