Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Liverpool are set to be without Trent Alexander-Arnold for a few more weeks. Liverpool's injury crisis went from bad to worse against City after Alexander-Arnold went down unchallenged clutching at his calf.

The only positive for Liverpool was that they were entering a two-week international break with the full-back given a chance to recuperate while not missing many games.

He was originally expected to be out for a month, although there were some suggestions that he would be back quicker.

The game against Leeds was always going to come too soon for the 22-year-old, but Klopp will be desperate to have him back available soon.

Klopp opted to name vice-captain James Milner as Alexander-Arnold's replacement against Leeds, with Neco Williams on the bench.

And the Liverpool boss confirmed before the match that both players will need to fill in for a few more weeks.

"Trent is not only out for a game or so, it will be slightly longer," Klopp said.

"That means we need to use all the options we have and obviously Millie [Milner] is one of them.

"When you have to make changes in the last line and adapt what we did before then experience is very important.
