Jurgen Klopp has been urged to ‘demand an explanation’ from the Professional Game Match Officials Board [PGMOL] for the Merseyside derby incidents that dominated headlines.

Jordan Henderson had a winning goal ruled out and Jordan Pickford wasn’t sent off for his shocking challenge on Virgil van Dijk.

“I felt it was pretty harsh on Liverpool and also costly for Virgil van Dijk.

Former Everton manager Sam Allardyce believes the Reds boss has every right to feel robbed by VAR after the weekend’s incident-filled Merseyside derby.

“I would ask and see if there is a small margin of error, and maybe human error that comes into play that’s got to be looked at and see if we can eradicate it.

It meant the game ended in a draw, with the Reds later suffering a further blow with news defensive rock Van Dijk is facing up to seven months on the sidelines after Pickford’s lunge.

“If I was Jurgen Klopp, I would be down asking for a full demonstration of how an offside result is compiled by VAR, to satisfy myself that they did get the right decision.
