Liverpool may have been handed a boost in their hopes of keeping Luis Diaz beyond this summer's transfer window.
The Colombia international has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, with Barcelona one of the clubs interested in his signature.
The Reds rejected an approach from Barcelona for Diaz earlier this month.
Liverpool are determined to keep Diaz at the club beyond this summer, with the 28-year-old's contract running until 2027.
Clubs from the Saudi Pro League have also been linked with signing Diaz this summer, but it's been Barcelona who have been mentioned the most on the rumour mill.
Now a fresh update has emerged that could affect Diaz's future at Liverpool.

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has reported on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Barcelona are now determined to sign Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams.
The report claims that the La Liga giants are waiting for the "green light" for the transfer to be given the go ahead, with club president Joan Laporta weighing up a potential move.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have also been linked with signing Williams this summer.
If Barcelona do go on to sign Williams, it's likely to affect their pursuit of Diaz at Liverpool.
Both Diaz and Williams perform on the left wing for their respective clubs, meaning signing one would likely mean that Barcelona would not need to sign the other.
Diaz enjoyed his best goalscoring season in a Liverpool shirt last term with 17 goals as he played a key role in helping the club win the Premier League title.
As reported by the ECHO earlier this month, the Reds have no intentions of allowing the forward to leave Anfield this summer despite the interest from abroad.

The ECHO also reported that with Al-Hilal failing in a bid of around £100m for Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes - who is two years older than Diaz - Liverpool feel the market rate has been set, should interest from the Saudi Pro League develop into something more concrete.
