Liverpool fans are gearing up to relax and enjoy the final four games of the season having already secured the Premier League title.

The Reds are safe in the knowledge that even if they lose their remaining matches, nobody can knock them off their perch at the top of the table.

With the title done and dusted, Arne Slot has suggested he will rotate his Liverpool squad to give some players a little bit of a rest ahead of the season’s end.

There are new tactical ideas Slot could try out in the meantime and it may be useful for the Dutchman to get a look at players like Federico Chiesa and Harvey Elliott ahead of the transfer window.

As Slot and Liverpool let their guard down, the chances for Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton and Crystal Palace to beat them will of course increase.

But Liverpool should also be mindful that if they win all four matches, there is a chance they could still set a new Premier League record for biggest gap between 1st and 2nd.

It would be wrong to suggest that there has been a title race this season.

Arsenal fans may debate otherwise, but Liverpool have waltzed to their championship.

As things stand, the gap is a whopping 15 points.

With Liverpool still to play the Gunners at Anfield, there is a realistic chance of that being 18 very soon.

From there, the Reds will need to gain just one more point over Arsenal in order to pull level with the biggest gap between 1st and 2nd in Premier League history.

The current record belongs to, who else, Manchester City, who finished 19 points ahead of Manchester United in their ‘centurions’ season of 2017/18.

Liverpool’s title win of 2019/20 should probably have broken the record, but having won the league with seven games to spare, the Reds lost two and drew two of their final matches to clear City by 18 points.

If Liverpool can beat Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton and Palace, their lead will stand at a minimum of 18.

Should Arsenal drop further points, they can still smash this record.

Liverpool’s four games will not be straightforward, especially with Slot in the mood for rotation and players – understandably – somewhat on the beach already.

But if they can win them all, they have a genuine shot at becoming the statistically biggest winners of all-time.

For that to happen, Arsenal will then need to lose against Liverpool and draw at least one more of their matches.

Given they play Bournemouth in between two tough games against PSG, that could realistically happen this weekend.

After their trip to Anfield Arsenal then face bogey team Newcastle at the Emirates, before finishing up away at Southampton.

Liverpool may not hold up their end of the bargain.
