Liverpool are displaying the ambition of Premier League champions this summer transfer window, imminently set to complete a British-record deal and still plotting more major coups.

Already through the door are Jeremie Frimpong, Armin Pecsi and Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Since, Florian Wirtz has been spotted landing in England on Thursday to wrap up his mega £116m move from Bayer Leverkusen, whilst Liverpool are now close to settling on a £40m fee that would see Milos Kerkez arrive from Bournemouth.

These five deals added together would take the club's 2025 expenditure to £185m, and we are barely three quarters of the way through June.

Anybody thinking that would be the close of business for a well-run club appear to have been proven wrong too as more transfer action is set to be on the way.

Leverkusen have returned for a third round of negotiations with the Reds this summer, though this time not to sell one of their own.

They are closing in on the £35m signing of young defender Jarell Quansah, which in turn has made a new, young centre back a new top priority for Liverpool.

Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi is a possible replacement being most heavily linked at present, said to have been the subject of a rejected offer from Tottenham in the January transfer window worth £55m plus £5m in add-ons, and now with a contract at Selhurst Park expiring in 12 months.

Before this all came to light, a 'dream' attempt to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak was being speculated, as the ECHO understands they are huge fans though have also been keeping tabs on Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike.

How would they possibly afford all of this?

One method would be through sales, with Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton both finding themselves in similar situations to Quansah regarding opportunities to play at Anfield.

"I don't really want to be wasting years on my career because it's a short career," Elliott has said, softening his stance towards leaving the club he grew up supporting.

The Mirror claim Liverpool would want 'at least £40m' for him.

Meanwhile Morton wanted to leave last summer, calling 2024/25 'the toughest season mentally'.

If he does decide to go as a result, £17m is the asking price CaughtOffside have stated would be required.

And the same publication, CaughtOffside, have finally also claimed Diogo Jota is worth £47m as his 2024/25 season was decimated by injury, thus causing doubts over his future.

Adding these rumoured totals up from the 11 'at-risk' players and Liverpool could recoup £381.5m through player sales.
