Liverpool chairman Tom Werner has made a strong promise to Reds fans off the back of the title ceremony at Anfield on Sunday.
However, the celebration will reach its crescendo today as the city prepares for a historic open-top bus parade, marking the club’s first league title celebration in front of fans since 1990
The victory procession, set to begin at 2:30 PM BST, will follow a 15-kilometer route designed to maximize accessibility for the estimated 750,000–1 million supporters expected to attend.
Mirroring the 2019 Champions League and 2022 domestic cup parades, the route starts at Allerton Maze and proceeds through Queens Drive, Mill Bank, West Derby Road, Islington, Leeds Street, and The Strand, before concluding at Blundell Street near the docks.
The event is anticipated to last 3–5 hours, with rolling road closures impacting The Strand (closed northbound from 4:00 AM) and Leeds Street (shut from midday).
Liverpool City Council has urged fans to avoid driving, advising public transport despite anticipated overcrowding.
But amid all the celebrations, the Liverpool decision-makers are doing their work in the background.
When quizzed if it will be a busy summer, Tom Werner revealed that it’s already busy and that he “owes it to supporters” to ensure the squad is even stronger next term:
“It’s already busy,” he said as quoted by the Press Association.
“We go again.
We owe it to all of our supporters to bring back a team even better next season.”
The FSG chief also praised Arne Slot and the seamless transition from Jurgen Klopp to the Dutchman:
“It’s extraordinary.
We obviously had high hopes for this season but he has been an extraordinary coach,” he added.
“I think there have been three coaches who have won the Premier League in their first season and Arne is one of them.
He is just an extraordinary leader.
“He’s authentic, he’s not trying to be anyone else?
The team was an extraordinarily good team but he brought the best out of them.”
