Liverpool have reportedly ruled out an imminent move for AC Milan winger Rafael Leao, despite recent speculation suggesting contact had been made between the two clubs.
Reports from Italy this week claimed the Premier League champions had initiated talks with Milan over a possible deal for the 25-year-old Portugal international, who has a reported price tag of €130 million (£109m).
However, Liverpool Echo has now reported that no official approach has been made.
Though Italian outlet TMW reported a significant enquiry had been made, insiders suggest there is no concrete interest from Liverpool at this stage.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reinforced this in a Q&A via GiveMeSport, stating:
“I’m not aware of concrete negotiations or talks at this stage.”

The Reds are currently focused on finalising the transfer of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen and continuing negotiations for Milos Kerkez, the Bournemouth left-back.
Wirtz has made clear his desire to join Liverpool, and talks are said to be progressing steadily.
The attacking midfielder’s potential arrival would set a new club transfer record if completed.
Amidst these high-profile pursuits, Leao does not appear to be among Liverpool’s top targets for the current window.
With Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo already covering the left-wing position and both reportedly staying put, there appears to be little urgency for the Reds to enter the market for another left-sided forward.
Liverpool’s transfer strategy remains clear: to secure key targets that align with Arne Slot’s tactical vision and avoid speculative spending.
