According to Liverpool are close to signing Bayern Munich player Thiago Alcantara as they have agreed an initial £20 million fee for the midfielder. The 29-year-old has been heavily linked with the Reds this summer and now the two clubs have agreed on a fee, with the Premier League giants now set to agree terms with Thiago who is reportedly interested to move to the English club.
However, he will not be playing the upcoming Chelsea match but could be handed his debut against Lincoln City. The Goal report further says that Thiago’s deal is not dependant on any departures from the club, despite midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum linked with Barcelona move. There has also been speculation about Rhian Brewster’s future too, with Sheffield United credited with an interest. The 29-year-old’s arrival will give a big boost to the Anfield side who have only signed Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos this transfer window.
