Bournemouth are closing in on a deal to sign Liverpool forward Ben Doak for a fee in the region of £25 million.
The 19-year-old has attracted interest from FC Porto and Premier League sides such as Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham this summer after a productive loan spell at Championship outfit Middlesbrough last season.
But it is the Cherries who are leading the race to sign the Scotland international, who joined the Reds from Celtic for £600,000 in May 2022.
The ECHO understands Bournemouth are willing to meet the £25m price tag that the Premier League champions have set on Doak.
Doak spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Middlesbrough and managed three goals and seven assists in 24 Championship outings before a hamstring injury in January ended his season prematurely.

Prior to suffering a season-ending injury, Doak was the subject of bids from Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town.
The forward, who has made ten senior appearances for the Reds, was an unused substitute in Sunday's FA Cup Community Shield defeat to Crystal Palace.
Bournemouth are in the market for forward reinforcements after agreeing to sell Dango Ouattara to Brentford in a deal worth up to £42.5m.
Liverpool welcome Bournemouth to Anfield on Friday night for the first Premier League game of the new season.
It is set to be an emotional evening for the Reds as they return to Premier League action for the first time since the passing of Diogo Jota last month.
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has revealed that Jota's wife and three kids are set to be in attendance at Anfield on Friday night.
"We know that this will be a very emotional occasion, given it is the first league game we have played since we lost Diogo and Andre," wrote Slot in his programme notes.
"As I have said previously, the tributes that have been paid throughout the football world, and especially within the LFC community, have been truly special, and I know that tonight we will come together to honour them once more.
"I believe that Diogo's wife and his family will be in attendance and it is important that, as a club, we show that they will always have our love and support as they deal with this most tragic of situations.
