Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a new Scandanavian-region scout, according to Swedish reports.
The Reds placed an advertisement earlier this year seeking a regional scout based in Scandinavia, a position designed to ensure Liverpool remains at the forefront of identifying potential targets across the Nordic region.
This need became apparent after the departure of long-serving Danish scout Mads Jorgensen to Norwegian club Molde in 2024.
And now, according Borås Tidning, IF Elfsborg scout Jasper Vallmark has emerged as the prime candidate for this coveted role.
When approached about the reported interest from the Premier League leaders, Vallmark remained diplomatically tight-lipped but confirmed this wasn’t the first time he had heard such speculation.
“Right now I’m working hard here at Elfsborg?
I have nothing else to say about it,” Vallmark told the Swedish newspaper when questioned about the Liverpool links.
However, when pressed about whether he was aware of Liverpool’s interest, the scout’s response was telling: “It’s not the first time I hear about it”.
The fact that Vallmark has previously been made aware of Liverpool’s admiration suggests the Merseyside club have been tracking his work for some time.
