Florian Wirtz to Liverpool finally looks like a done deal, with all outlets now reporting the same thing.
German publication Kicker, renowned for their reliability in transfer reporting, has confirmed that Florian Wirtz’s move to Liverpool is now a done deal.
According to the report, all documents are currently being finalized and signed by both parties, with only the formalities of a medical examination and contract signing remaining.
Now the club’s briefing has reached the media.
It can now be confirmed that Liverpool has finalized an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Florian Wirtz for a total fee of €136.3 million (£116 million).
The deal is structured with an initial payment of €117.5 million (£100 million), supplemented by up to €18.8 million (£16 million) in performance-related add-ons.
The negotiations have been ongoing for several weeks, with Liverpool initially offering €130 million (£109 million) before increasing their bid to €134 million (£113 million) earlier in June.
That improved offer featured €118.7 million (£100 million) guaranteed and €15.4 million (£13 million) in add-ons.
Both clubs have been locked in discussions led by Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes and Leverkusen’s managing director of sport Simon Rolfes, focusing on the payment structure and the nature of the add-ons.
Despite Leverkusen’s reported €150 million (£126.4 million) asking price, Liverpool have made it clear they do not intend to go that high, and Leverkusen are also eager to avoid letting Wirtz enter the final year of his contract, which expires in 2027.
