Liverpool have completed the signing of Hungarian goalkeeper Armin Pecsi.
The 20-year-old arrives from Puskas Akademia in a deal worth £1.5 million and provides fresh depth for the Premier League champions’ last line of defence.
Pecsi joins Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili in moving to Anfield this summer, just days after academy graduate Caoimhin Kelleher’ secured a move to Brentford.
Already capped by his country at under-21 level, he featured 30 times in the Hungarian top flight as his former club secured a second-place finish last season.
He will initially join the Reds’ under-21 ranks with Vitezslav Jaros, who had served as third-choice in the previous campaign, expected to be allowed to go out on loan.
However Pecsi, who was among the nominees for this year’s Golden Boy award, is set to train with Arne Slot’s side during his formative months on Merseyside.
