Sadio Mane has completed his move from Anfield to Bayern Munich with the Reds labelling the forward a “Liverpool legend”.
“When my agent first told me about Bayern’s interest, I was immediately excited,” Mane told Bild.
For me it was the right club at the right time.
“He departs Anfield with the best wishes of everyone and the complete set of Premier League, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Emirates FA Cup and Carabao Cup winner’s medals.”
Mane was labelled a “legend” in the tweet that announced his departure.
Sky in Germany understand Mane has penned a contract with the German champions until 2025.
“What he has done for this club and continues to do puts him in the bracket of ‘legend’.”
Speaking to German outlet Bild about the move, Mane declared Bayern the “right club at the right time”.
Mane, 30, was in Germany on Tuesday to complete formalities on a deal which ends his six-year stay at Liverpool.
