Liverpool have taken another step in reshaping their goalkeeping department this summer.
The club confirmed the agreement to sign highly-rated Hungarian prospect Armin Pecsi (via Liverpoolfc).
The 20-year-old completed a medical and signed his contract at the AXA Training Centre, officially becoming the latest addition to the Reds’ squad.
Confirmation of the move was also provided by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who posted on X:
“Armin Pecsi signs in as Liverpool player as 20 year old goalkeeper will be part of long term project.
Record sale for Puskas Akademia”

Pecsi arrives from Puskas Akademia after an impressive 2024/25 campaign in which he helped his side to a second-place finish in Hungary’s top flight.
This earned them a place in next season’s UEFA Conference League qualifiers.
The 20-year-old made 30 appearances for his club and has been recognised internationally with five caps for Hungary’s U21 team.
He was also recently nominated for the 2025 Golden Boy award, underlining his growing reputation.
Hungarian journalist Bence Bocsak described Pecsi as “one of the best young goalkeeping prospects in Europe.”
Liverpool’s goalkeeping department is undergoing significant change this summer.
With Caoimhin Kelleher having joined Brentford in an £18 million deal, the Reds are preparing for the future.
Giorgi Mamardashvili will become Alisson Becker’s backup when his move from Valencia becomes official on July 1.
Pecsi is expected to begin his Liverpool journey with the underage squads in 2025/26.
This signing may fly under the radar compared to the club’s pursuit of bigger names like Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.
Liverpool clearly sees long-term potential in Pecsi, a move that could prove to be another smart piece of business.
