Liverpool are reportedly considering a shock move for Marcus Rashford who finds himself on the fringes at one of their fiercest rivals (via Daily Mail).

Rashford, once central to his club’s plans, now trains separately after a breakdown in relationship with Ruben Amorim.

The 27-year-old spent the latter part of last season on loan at Aston Villa, notching four goals and six assists in 17 appearances.

However, that temporary club declined to sign him permanently, citing the £40m fee and his significant wages, reportedly around £300,000 a week, as stumbling blocks.

While the forward dreams of a move to Spain, interest from abroad has so far only extended to a possible loan.

This leaves the door slightly ajar for a potential Premier League switch, though history shows it would be a highly unusual one.

Liverpool’s interest is said to be in the early exploratory phase, with the striker “floated as an idea” rather than a serious negotiation underway.
