On Wednesday morning, the Reds will have a rough idea of when and where they will be heading to the likes of the Emirates, Old Trafford, the Etihad and Stamford Bridge.

In the meantime, though, Arne Slot is continuing to strengthen his side as Liverpool remain locked in talks with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Florian Wirtz, and Bournemouth over Milos Kerkez.

The Uruguay international was linked with a move to the Middle East in January but decided to stay put at Anfield and help the Reds win the Premier League.

However, Fabrizio Romano claims that the forward is now "open" to a move to the Saudi Pro League this summer, with several clubs keen on the forward.

Writing on X, he said: "Darwin Nunez remains guaranteed exit at Liverpool this summer with Saudi Pro League clubs keen since January.

"Understand also Napoli have made contact in the recent days with Nunez on the shortlist and more talks to follow soon.

Darwin, open to both Saudi-European options.

Nunez started just eight Premier League games this season, and has two years remaining on his current deal at Anfield.

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl says his side wouldn't have been able to afford what Liverpool are offering Bayer Leverkusen to sign Florian Wirtz.

The Reds have had three bids rejected for the 22-year-old in recent weeks, the latest of which was worth up to £113m.

But despite the 2024/25 Bundesliga champions standing firm on their valuation of Wirtz, Liverpool and Leverkusen remain in talks over a deal after the attacker made it clear that he wanted to join the Premier League champions instead of Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

But even if the player had set his sights on a move to the Allianz Arena, Eberl has cast doubt on whether the Germans would have been able to finance a bid on par with Liverpool's offers.

Speaking to Sky Sport Germany about their unsuccessful pursuit of the Germany international, Eberl said: “If I’m being honest, I don’t know if we could have matched what Liverpool are apparently paying now.

"Florian Wirtz is an outstanding player.
