The reigning Premier League champions have made several changes to their squad to improve it and make it even more competitive.
The Reds are the clear favourites to come away with the top-flight title this term, but, since they didn’t make the best of names for themselves in the Champions League last time around, they’ll want to do better this season.

However, after the latest transfer news to emerge from Anfield, if anything, it feels like the Reds could be getting weaker.
Regular features such as Caoimhin Kelleher and Luis Diaz were sent to the chopping block, and, although Giorgi Mamardashvili was due to join the Reds, a replacement for the Colombian hasn’t yet been found.
“Ben Doak to Bournemouth is a done deal for £25m,” he wrote.

Even though Slot’s squad is already thin as it is, it’s clear that a couple of players will still want to be sold if they’re not guaranteed game time.
Slot also needs to focus his attention on bringing in a new attacker; indeed, Alexander Isak’s future has been questioned for as long as many can remember, but with the way Hugo Ekitike is playing, it feels like a winger is more needed than another striker.

At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen, but if a new centre-back and a new attacker aren’t brought in before transfer deadline day, the Reds could find themselves in a lot of trouble come the end of the season.
That is, especially if they end up with one or two long-term injuries, which, judging from their previous injury records, is highly likely.
