Liverpool supporters received the news they've been waiting for on Friday when it emerged that the Reds had agreed a £116m deal to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
The Reds will have outgoings in mind as the revamp of Arne Slot's Premier League winning squad continues, but a central striker will remain in their thoughts.
Indeed, with the future of Darwin Nunez likely to lie away from Anfield and Diogo Jota's injury record, Liverpool could benefit from finding a new, long-term solution up front.

Our writers have their say:
Paul Gorst
After agreeing an eye-watering club-record fee of up to £116m for Florian Wirtz, you have to wonder how much else might be in the piggybank for Liverpool to spend this summer?
With £45m-rated Milos Kerkez also the subject of talks between the Reds and Bournemouth, is an all-singing, all-dancing No.9 realistic in this window?
Sales might need to be factored into the thinking before that happens but given it is still only mid-June - and the transfer window isn't even open until Monday, technically - there is ample time to find funds needed to reupholster the front line.

Now Liverpool have agreed an £116m deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Florian Wirtz, the Reds' attention will quickly switch to finalising a deal for AFC Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez.
But beyond the Hungarian, a new centre-forward has to be the club's priority.
While Arne Slot's side did not have trouble scoring this season, their strikers struggled and it would be far from ideal if they need into the new season with Luis Diaz still leading the line.
With Mohamed Salah set to depart on Africa Cup of Nations duty during the festive period, a prolific number nine is even more of a priority.
Alexander Isak or Julian Alvarez would be the dream, but both would cost obscene amounts of money while Newcastle United and Atletico Madrid are hardly willing sellers.
FSG have shown they are willing to back Liverpool financially this summer, given they have just broken the club record to sign Wirtz, but it would be a big ask to cough up another £100m on a striker.
Having seen a record deal for Nunez ultimately not pay off, Liverpool would have to take a similar gamble if they decided Ekitike was their target of choice.
Elsewhere, I remain intrigued by Victor Osimhen.
