Liverpool's hopes of sending Jurgen Klopp off as a Premier League champion appear to be over after dire defeat to Everton in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday.

The Reds posted one of their worst performances of the season to lose 2-0 and suffer their first loss at Goodison in approaching 14 years.

Liverpool now turn their attentions to their remaining Premier League games with the trip to West Ham United on Saturday.



And here we look ahead to the changes Jurgen Klopp could make when his team are next in action.

Konate question

The title challenge may effectively be over but Liverpool still need to make sure of a top-four finish, although only Tottenham Hotspur, who are 14 points adrift and have six games left to play, can now knock them out of the Champions League qualification berths.

And Liverpool will need a response to the derby disappointment in Klopp's penultimate away game in charge, which will likely call for a whole host of changes.

That, though, is unlikely to be in goal, where Alisson Becker is ahead of Caoimhin Kelleher and Adrian.

Conor Bradley, another right-back, is injured.

A poor performance from Ibrahima Konate puts him at risk of being replaced by Jarell Quansah at centre-back, with Virgil van Dijk likely to continue in the starting line-up.

Gomez is another option, but Joel Matip is out for the season.

Endo on standby

A completely overhauled midfield performed poorly as a unit at Goodison, all the more disappointing given how well the engine room operated in the second half at Fulham three days earlier.

Wataru Endo could come back in as the number six which would allow either another rest for Alexis Mac Allister or an opportunity to push him further upfield.

Stefan Bajcetic is building up his fitness with the under-21s while Thiago Alcantara remains sidelined.

Gakpo back?

Liverpool sorely missed both Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota at Everton, and while the latter remains out injured, Gakpo could return after being absent with his partner having gone into labour.

He had been expected to start after some good recent performances, and if available could slot either down the left or, more likely, in the middle where Darwin Nunez had a poor match on Wednesday.

Mohamed Salah was also under par at Goodison, and may again be rotated to the bench should Luis Diaz be switched from the left to right flank as at Fulham last weekend.

Elliott is another option on the wing, as is youngster Kaide Gordon.

Teenager striker Jayden Danns, meanwhile, has made the bench in recent games and could offer a wildcard option down the centre.
