Even were it not for the troubles that Liverpool has had in front of goal in recent weeks, it would have made sense for the Reds to look at signing another forward this summer.

That strategy has already begun to pay off, and could do so again in the future with the likes of Ben Doak, Kaide Gordon and Bobby Clark among those vying to come through.

Now, though, links have emerged with another young talent, who admittedly would cost a significant amount more than those other names, but certainly has already shown signs of being on the pathway to the top.

Supposedly, Liverpool likes the look of the 21-year-old Spanish talent Alberto Moleiro.

Now, today's AS (print edition via Sport Witness) has claimed that Liverpool has been working for 'months' on the signing of Moleiro, while Inter Milan is also said to be keen.

And when Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and Barcelona are all in the race to sign you, there is a good chance you are heading in the right direction.

In November 2022, a report in Spain from AS claimed that Liverpool was eyeing up a deal for a Spanish wonderkid who is also being chased by Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.

Dubbed the 'new Pedri' by Goal in October 2022, as much for the fact that the Barcelona starlet also played for Las Palmas previously as anything else, Moleiro is going to be on the move sooner rather than later.

Barcelona even attempted to repeat the Pedri move by bidding $10.6m (£8.9m/€10m) for the talented teenager in 2022, according to local media outlet Canarias7.

Moleiro is on the right track already in his career and is destined for a big move before long — Liverpool should certainly be placing themselves in the conversation for a few attacking reinforcements ahead of the summer, before picking the best one.

An original version of this story was first published on 6 November 2022.
