Liverpool FC can target another huge signing this summer after landing Florian Wirtz.

The Premier League champions are expected to complete the signing of Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, following an impressive campaign from the 21-year-old.

Allowing both players to move to the Metropolitano Stadium could now work in Arne Slot’s favour.

Liverpool have been linked with an audacious move for Atletico forward Julian Alvarez.

The Argentine international only joined Diego Simeone’s side on a six-year deal last summer in an £81.8m move from Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola was widely questioned for sanctioning his departure, with Alvarez, 25, going on to score 29 times for his new club last season.

Liverpool will push for more than that but such a figure would cut out a significant portion of the Alvarez fee, meaning an offer of the two players plus cash could be enough to seal a sensational deal.

Despite the lavish fee for Wirtz, Liverpool are said to still have funds at their disposal, having spent little last summer.

Premier League glory, as well as the windfall of Champions League qualification, has left them in a position of power in the transfer market ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

And recruiting Alvarez would be another eye-catching way to show that power.
