Liverpool are known to be wily operators in the transfer market and are certainly capable of pulling off some shock deals.
The Reds have sent shockwaves throughout the rest of the division with some of the big names they look set to get, none more so than Florian Wirtz.
However, despite paying £116m for his services, Liverpool are not done yet and their spending could reach an all-time high by the time the second transfer window slams shut.
Their bold decisions could also be set to carry on and they have a big one to make regarding Andy Robertson, with Atletico Madrid vying for his signature.
The Scotsman has one year left on his contract but would likely be allowed to leave this summer if he really wants to move, with his departure potentially helping Liverpool sign a long-term target in the process.

A striker has been on the Reds’ radar for quite some time, but with a big transition set to happen at the top of the pitch this summer, they need one more than ever.
Many names have been linked but Julian Alvarez is a player they have wanted since his departure from Manchester City was announced, and this summer they stand as good a chance as they may ever get.
Atletico Madrid’s interest in Darwin Nunez and now Robertson could be used to Liverpool’s advantage and, with both players keen on a move to the Spanish capital, could be included in some sort of swap deal.

Of course, cash would still likely be included but with the Argentine valued at around £80m and Nunez at £50m-£60m, it makes a whole lot of sense for the Reds to at least try this move.
Atletico’s president has said that Alvarez is not for sale, but with their interest strong in both of Liverpool’s stars, they may find themselves in a vulnerable position if they really want them.
The Reds could inject a bit of cash to sweeten the deal as well, meaning the Spanish giants still benefit significantly in this deal, but if they pull it off, it would be another Richard Hughes masterclass.
Not only is the Argentine a serial winner and Premier League-proven, but his characteristics would make him a perfect fit in Arne Slot’s system.

The World Cup winner is not only a prolific and clinical goalscorer, but he is incredibly hard-working too, a trait that is a necessity in a Liverpool team.
The Argentinian connection and potential link-up with Alexis Mac Allister could also be another influencing factor if he is to make the move, with their combination potentially lethal.
It will certainly be a hard move to pull off but it would be no surprise to see Hughes be the man to do just that, especially as it would benefit both clubs in some way next season.
