Liverpool has paid its latest tribute to Diogo Jota.

He has been mourned all across the sport and beyond since his tragic passing earlier this month, with the club now taking its latest step to immortalize the beloved forward.

Jota, who died in a car accident along with his brother Andre, has had his number 20 jersey retired by the club.

"Diogo Jota is immortalised as Liverpool Football Club's number 20 forever," that profile reads.

"The much-loved forward tragically died at the age of just 28 in a road traffic accident in July 2025, five years into a Reds career that was packed with special moments.

"Amid the huge outpouring of love for Jota, who passed away alongside his brother Andre Silva in the tragedy, the club confirmed the retirement of his jersey across all of its teams and for eternity."

Jota will be the last to don the number 20 for Liverpool across all levels.

This gesture, and the corresponding addition to the website, are the latest in a series of tributes designed to honor Diogo and his brother Andre.

He becomes just the 38th entrant, and the first addition in more than two years.
