Liverpool has discovered which side it will face in the Carabao Cup third round following the draw on Wednesday.
The Reds will face Southampton at Anfield.
The sides also met in the competition last year, with Liverpool winning the quarter-final tie at St Mary's.
Liverpool knew ahead of the draw that it would avoid playing one of the fellow Champions League and Europa League side, with the eight clubs (Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur) all drawn first in a round three pre-draw.
Those teams will enter in the third round and play their matches during the week beginning September 15.
Ten of the 11 other top-flight sides entered the Carabao Cup at round two and those who weren't eliminated will play their third round ties on September 22.
That will not included Manchester United after it was incredibly dumped out by League Two Grimsby Town on Wednesday.
West Ham United, Bournemouth, Sunderland and Leeds United were also eliminated in the second round.
Crystal Palace, who is set to play in the Europa Conference League, is included in that group of non-European clubs, but did not play in the second round.
That was explained ahead of the confusing pre-draw, in which Liverpool's name was the penultimate side drawn out from the Premier League and Europa League sides.
The highlight was perhaps Arsenal's trip to Port Vale, while Chelsea will travel to Lincoln City.
Grimsby's reward for beating United is a tie against troubled Sheffield Wednesday.
As for Liverpool, it will be looking to build on its record of 10 League Cup triumphs, the most in the competition's history.
