Liverpool supporters will remember this Friday for a very long time to come.
Since being confirmed as Premier League champions in April, it has near enough been one long party for Reds fans.
And the fun was ramped up several notches on Friday, first with the news that a deal has been agreed to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.
A breakthrough on Kerkez has been a long time coming and Liverpool fans are delighted to have moved a significant step closer to signing their new left-back.
But while the Hungarian will no doubt be afforded a brilliant welcome when the time arrives, Friday was ultimately all about Florian Wirtz.
After almost a full day of waiting, Wirtz officially joined Liverpool in a long-anticipated 7pm announcement.
However, those waiting to get their Reds shirt with the German printed on the back are going to have to hold on a little longer.

One strange detail about Liverpool’s new signings this summer is that they are currently being unveiled in last season’s kit.
Part of the usual excitement with glitzy additions is the chance to see them model the new year’s strip as they join the club.

However, Adidas are not due to take over from Nike until August, meaning the likes of Frimpong, Wirtz and, probably, Kerkez will initially don the Premier League-winning 2024/25 shirt instead.
And while this is not yet confirmed, it could be part of the reason why both Frimpong and Wirtz are yet to be handed a squad number by Liverpool.

Despite joining in May, Frimpong’s official shirt number is yet to be publicly formalised, while Liverpool themselves confirmed on Friday that the same will now be true of Wirtz.
“Wirtz’s official squad number for Liverpool will be confirmed later this summer,” an explanation read on Liverpoolfc.com after the new signing announcement.
Although it hardly matters in the grand scheme of things, it is always exciting for fans to see what shirt number their new additions will wear.
For Wirtz, given the position he plays, he feels very much like a No.
10 kind of player.
However, with Alexis Mac Allister already occupying the number at Liverpool, it is highly unlikely Wirtz will take it.
Wirtz could pick No.
27, the shirt he wore at Leverkusen before switching to 10, while the likes of six, 12 and 15 are also available.
Ultimately, though, just like with Frimpong, fans are going to have to wait until later in the summer to find out.
