Liverpool are open to selling academy starlet Tyler Morton despite Jurgen Klopp backing him for big things at Anfield.

Morton, who has previously spent time on loan with Championship sides Hull and Blackburn, believes that a switch to Ligue 1 would represent a fresh start in his career.

Morton previously had an opportunity to join German side Bayer Leverkusen last year, only for Liverpool to reject their advances.

He then doubled down on that stance following another impressive outing from Morton.

He said: “I don't want to make his life any more complicated than it is already, playing at such a young age for a club like Liverpool in a game like this with a performance like this.

"I think we should all calm down but it was really good tonight and a big pleasure to watch the boy playing.

Luis Diaz completed a switch to Bayern Munich earlier this month, while Jarrel Quansah, Caoimhín Kelleher and Trent Alexander-Arnold have all earned the reigning Premier League champions considerable fees.

Liverpool have reinvested with a number of big-money signings including Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.
