Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that Curtis Jones will be unavailable for Sunday's Premier League clash against Burnley.

The Premier League champions will be without the midfielder at Turf Moor due to injury but he is expected to be the only absentee after the returns of Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong.

The right-back position has been problematic in the early stages of the new season, with Dominik Szoboszlai stepping in due to injuries to Bradley and Frimpong.

However, both defenders are now fit for the journey to Burnley, with Bradley having played twice for Northern Ireland during the international break and Frimpong returning to Liverpool training this week.

The Dutch coach added: "First of all, the Swedish manager Jon Dahl Tomasson deserves a big compliment because he gets maybe the best striker in the world, and needs to play two very important but understands if he plays him twice for 90 minutes then probably the player would have been injured for multiple weeks.
