According to The Telegraph, it would take a bid approaching the £200million mark for Newcastle to enter into negotiations with Liverpool.
The current world record transfer stands at £200m, with Paris Saint-Germain paying Barcelona that amount to prise Neymar away from the Nou Camp in 2017.
But Liverpool would also have to give Isak meaty wages, with the forward currently earning around £120,000 a week at St James’ Park.

Liverpool still have second Florian Wirtz announcement to make after deal
Liverpool are paying Florian Wirtz a base wage of £195,000 per week after securing his signature (Image: GETTY)
Liverpool completed the signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen on Friday and will reportedly hand the winger a minimum of £195,000 per week after he signed a five-year contract.
Isak would surely want his wages and contract length to at least mirror Wirtz’s deal at Anfield if he does agree a move to the north west.
So the former La Liga player may demand £200,000 a week from Liverpool chiefs.
That means the Reds could be forced to hand Isak £52m in wages over a five-year period if they could convince Newcastle to sell him for £200m.
