Liverpool's Community Shield defeat to Crystal Palace may have raised another concern for the Reds.

The match ended in a 2-2 draw, with Palace emerging victorious in the subsequent penalty shootout at Wembley.

Marc Guehi, who starred and captained Palace in the team's victory over Liverpool, has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield this summer.

Rumors have been circulating that Palace might demand up to £50 million ($67.3 million) for the center-back, despite his contract expiring at the end of the season.

Toward the end of Liverpool's defeat, Guehi was substituted off and replaced by Justin Devenny.

Guehi seemed to be in some discomfort as he exited the pitch, but it is still uncertain whether this was due to an injury or if the substitution was made as a precautionary measure.



Guehi lifted the Community Shield on Sunday

Guehi later joined his Palace teammates in the stands to lift the Community Shield and celebrate their win over Liverpool.

Following the sale of Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool has been strongly linked with the acquisition of a new central defender.

However, it remains uncertain whether Liverpool will make a move for Guehi to join the Anfield ranks.

Should Guehi be a genuine target for Liverpool and the defender suffers an injury, the Reds may find themselves compelled to explore other options before the transfer window shuts on 1 September.

Speaking on the transfer window after Sunday's game, Slot told BBC Radio 5 Live: "After two years of no change, we brought a lot of money in and then I think it is a good moment to get new energy in.

"We have lost four starters and players that have played a lot for us

"We have to make sure we are ready for Bournemouth and then after that we have Newcastle away and Arsenal - I don't need to tell you how good those two teams are."
