Liverpool may have had an excellent summer so far but there are still some problems that they need to sort out.
The Reds appear to be aiming to build a super team to last, with the future of their squad certainly an exciting one that most would jump at the chance of being a part of.
However, some people are yet to commit their long-term future to the project, with Ibrahima Konate, whose contract expires next summer, still yet to sign a new deal.
At this point, everyone is aware of Real Madrid’s interest but Liverpool are doing all they can to fend them off, with the plan still to give the Frenchman a new deal.
Negotiations have gone quiet on that front, though, and a breakthrough is yet to be made, although fans reckon that ‘Ibou’ himself has just dropped a big hint at where his future lies.

The power of social media truly is frightening, and players these days have to be really careful about what they post or else there could be big repercussions.
Konate, however, may or may not have realised what he has just done, with the Frenchman posting photos of his holiday which include two images of ‘Route 66’ signs.
In fact, one of them even says ‘Route 66, end of the trail,’ leaving many fans to think that he is following in the footsteps of Liverpool’s former No.66 and joining Real Madrid on a free transfer.

One fan wrote: “Konate on Instagram… lost all hopes after this,” while another added: “He’s probably leaving on a free like Trent did then.”
A third added: “I swear he’s doing it on purpose,” followed by a crying emoji, with a fourth putting: “Get his replacement in line ASAP.
He is clearly off to Madrid next summer.”

A fifth wrote: “Bro is quite literally showing us all the signs,” with another adding: “Someone said it’s an exit route to Madrid, I hope it’s not that…”
A seventh put: “Calm, he’s leaving then…” while a final supporter summed it up nicely by writing: “Why would he post that?”
Whether Konate leaves or not, Liverpool still have a big problem with their defence and will need to get it sorted before it is too late.
They currently have just three first-team centre-back options, one being 34 years old, while the other two are very injury-prone.
And, if Konate does leave on a free next summer, that will only exacerbate their problems further, suggesting it is better to get it sorted now before desperation sets in.
Marc Guehi is a name constantly linked and someone they should really be trying to make a move for, while a younger option such as Giovanni Leoni is also being considered.
