Liverpool fans are all in agreement about Kostas Tsimikas as transfer update emerges, the verdict is clear

Kostas Tsimikas is a player whom Liverpool have relied upon far more often than they would’ve likely wanted to during the 2024-25 season.

The self-proclaimed Greek Scouser has often been interchanged with Andy Robertson at left-back due to the drop in form the Scotsman has shown this term.

One of Liverpool’s main targets is Rayan Ait-Nouri, with the Wolves man enjoying a stellar season under Vitor Pereira thus far.

A move for the Algerian international would likely set the Merseyside outfit back around £40 million, which is a hefty chunk of change.

With this in mind, it doesn’t feel likely that Tsimikas will have enough opportunities to warrant a place in Arne Slot’s first team squad, especially if Ait-Nouri does arrive.

Since the January transfer window was opened, the Reds have been linked with a plethora of full-backs.

Jeremie Frimpong has been linked with Liverpool, and with Slot’s side seemingly interested in adding a new left-back to their ranks, it’s not a surprise to see Leeds United being touted with a move for the former Olympiakos man.

These rumours have emerged from a new Daily Mail report, which states that the Whites are now “considering” making a move for the Greek international.

One fan wrote that it “would be a great move for him,” while another shared that Liverpool should “sell, sell, sell.”

“Get in there,” one fan added.

While another said that Tsimikas “would be a good signing for them to be fair.”

This fan also seemed rather elated by the news and stated that a deal “makes sense, Kostas out and Kerkez in, simple.”

There’s no denying that when called upon, Tsimikas has been a more than solid back-up for Robertson.

But, with both players now getting on a bit and dropping off performance-wise, now feels like the right time to get some new and exciting talent in.

Ait-Nouri is one of the most sought-after defenders in the Premier League, and if Slot can somehow manage to prise him away from Wolves, it would be a major statement.

Robertson could help mentor the 23-year-old and turn him into the next big thing at Anfield.

Only time will tell whether any of these moves will work out, but on paper, the transfer of Tsimikas to Leeds makes a lot of sense.
