Liverpool started their Champions League campaign off with yet another dramatic win.

The Reds had not been the most convincing in their first four Premier League games of the season, and that continued again against Atletico Madrid.

The biggest talking point of the night was that Alexander Isak made his debut, and despite failing to score, the Swede certainly made his presence felt.

But, there was another player who had a better game than most, with his performance helping Liverpool get over the line.

And despite going under the radar on many occasions, Reds fans were quick to highlight just how good he was yet again.

The midfield is where games can be won and lost, as if a team controls the middle of the park, they usually dominate the game.

And, this is what Liverpool did during this game, with Ryan Gravenberch playing a starring role in achieving this.

The Dutchman was the heartbeat of the team and excelled in both defence and attack, with Reds fans left in awe of his performance for the second game running.

One fan wrote on X: “Gravenberch is just ridiculous.

He’s just better and better, game after game.”

Another put: “Gravenberch is our best player.

Makes football look so easy.”

A fourth fan added: “Gravenberch simply best in the world man,” while another agrees that he is one of the best, saying: “There aren’t many better players in the world than Ryan Gravenberch.

Absolute magic footballer.”

A seventh thinks he is even better than last season, saying: “Gravenberch has started this season at an even higher level than last, what a player,” while a final fan cannot help but agree, writing: “Gravenberch has gone up another level.

Just magic to watch.”

Given how much money Liverpool have spent in the transfer market, and the amount of attacking talent they have on display, it might come as a surprise to many that Gravenberch is considered as one of their most important players.

But he showed yet again why that is the case, with the Dutchman running the game for the Reds in the middle of the park.

When he is missing, his absence is also felt significantly, with this proven during the first game of the season against Bournemouth.
