Liverpool fans will have to wait a little while before seeing new record signing Alexander Isak in action after his signing on deadline day.
The Reds had been pushing to buy Isak from Newcastle United all summer long, and finally got their man on Monday.
However, the frustration following the elation of the transfer deadline is that it is quickly followed by the first international break of the season.
More or less the full Liverpool squad have headed off around the world as they compete for their countries, including Isak.
The 25-year-old is of course the major hope of Sweden, who are aiming to make a splash at next year’s World Cup after failing to qualify in 2022.
And as they prepare to settle in and watch their new man over the next 10 days or so, Liverpool fans will actually be ending a 35-year wait.

Liverpool history has been littered with top quality Scandinavian players, with many arriving in the 1990s and 2000s.

It has been even longer since Liverpool supporters saw one of their own turning out for the Swedish national team, with the last of Hysen’s 68 caps coming in 1990.
As a result, Liverpool fans will be watching one of their players representing Sweden for the first time in 35 years when Isak and the Blue and Yellows walk out to face Slovenia on Friday.
While it will be great to see a Red finally wearing blue and yellow again, it is unlikely that we will see too much of Isak during the current break.
The No.
9 has not played since May, and as a result he must be carefully managed over the next few weeks.
Thankfully, Sweden manager Jon Dahl Tomasson has proclaimed that they ‘will not do stupid things’ with Isak ahead of his return to Liverpool.
“We will not do stupid things with him,” Tomasson said after Isak arrived at the camp this week.
“He’s not had a preseason with lots of training and matches.
