Liverpool have released their new home kit for the 2024/25 opinion and fans are divided over it.

It is inspired by the club's kit from the 1984 season when they lifted the European Cup in Rome under manager Joe Fagan.

It also features a unique collar design 'with traditional yellow and red detailing', a nod to that Liverpool kit worn by the ’84 team.

This new kit will also be the first after Jurgen Klopp leaves the club this summer, with Arne Slot closing in on being appointed his replacement.

Men’s captain Virgil van Dijk said: “I’m a big fan of our new kit for next season and love the fact we’re bringing the retro vibe back.

"We are a club built on history and the 1984 team was one of our most successful ever.

I’m sure our fans will appreciate the nod to those club legends.”

LFC Women vice-captain Taylor Hinds said: “It’s such a different look for the new season, and we can’t wait to wear it.

The retro inspiration always makes you feel a part of the club’s history is with you as you play.”

However, the kit has received mixed reviews by fans on social media.

Some people love it and cannot wait to get their hands on it.

Fans were divided, especially about the collar

Another wrote: "What a kit."

A third added: "Take my money."

Others, however, were not so sure.

This is likely to be the last kit that Nike produce for Liverpool under their current contract.

It has been reported that from the 2025/26 season, adidas will take over as kit supplier.

One fan wrote: "Can't wait for adidas."
