Liverpool are building for the future and that means replacing those who have served them well.
The Reds’ summer looked to be a tricky one to navigate a few months ago as three key players all looked set to leave on a free transfer.
However, they managed to keep Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, but lost Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid.
They have replaced him well in the form of Jeremie Frimpong, but fans will still be a little sour over losing a scouser for significantly less than they should have.
Despite receiving £10m in compensation, the right-back still hasn’t managed to win fans over, with what he did during his Real Madrid unveiling only making matters worse.

As tradition at Real Madrid, players give a speech after they have been announced, with many needing a translator.
However, Alexander-Arnold gave his in Spanish, and flawlessly too, leaving Liverpool fans fuming and suggesting he had been planning this move longer than was made out.

One fan put: “Just confirms what we’ve all been thinking really doesn’t it, he’s been planning this for years.”
Another wrote: “No way this man planned his move years ago to the extent of even learning Spanish.
He must have been tired of Liverpool.
“Bro has been plotting this for a while,” another put simply.
A fourth fan put: “Our ex vice-captain has been learning Spanish for 2 years, our ex vice-captain joined a club that has beaten us in two European Cup finals and our ex vice-captain left on a free.

“This snake has been eyeing up this Real Madrid move for at least 2 years,” another angrily put.
Still can’t believe some of our fans clapped him on the last day of the season,” a sixth fan wrote.
Another fan tweeted jokingly, but rather angrily: “Couldn’t defend the back post for years but learnt to speak fluent Spanish in 2 months after deciding to leave in March yeah?”
A final fan added: “He knew he was going a LONG time ago!”
As many expected, Alexander-Arnold was not allowed to take the number 66 at Real Madrid due to La Liga’s rule about first team players having to have numbers between one and 25.
Instead, he has opted for the number 12 shirt, likely because of the link to six plus six equalling 12, but there is another detail he has had changed.
Instead of having Alexander-Arnold on the back of his shirt, he has opted for just his first name, something many Brazilians do.
The love story between the right-back and Liverpool is, as of today, officially over, and it has turned into a rather sour ending.
