Liverpool's team sheet has been released with some unexpected changes, including big-money signings Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak and Andy Robertson dropped to the bench.
Reds head coach Arne Slot has opted to go with the midfield trio that guided the Reds to their Premier League trophy last season with Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister holding, with Dominik Szoboszlai back in the attacking midfield role - in place of Wirtz.
Milos Kerkez getting the start over Andy Robertson is also notable, with the Reds' vice-captain earning his spot back for the Champions League game while having impressed in their last two outings.
Kerkez is seen as Liverpool's long-term left-back, but has not made the immediate impact that he'd have liked
However, he comes back into the game - where he'll come up against Everton's premiere attacking threat in Iliman Ndiaye.
A fan had tweeted: "I rate that Arne Slot is trusting Kerkez today after what happened last week
Alexander Isak has also been named on the bench
The Reds has been less than convincing in all of their games, despite winning all of them, being reliant on last-minute goals in all of their wins.
The likes of Wirtz, Isak, Frimpong and perhaps Roberton and the emerging Rio Ngumoha will be relied upon to come off-the-bench should the Reds find themselves in a position where they're looking for another winning goal.
Liverpool.com says: "Arne Slot has certainly taken a few risks with his starting eleven here - a day in which Liverpool fans will not want to see them drop points
While all will point to both Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak being benched, they are both understandable decisions with the German's slower start to the season and their new number nine just joining the team
