Liverpool fans ‘should be worried’ about Manchester United after they beat Burnley to knock the defending champions off the Premier League top spot.
“Liverpool fans should be worried because United will now go to that game with no pressure whatsoever, with an unbelievable away record in the league and will quite happily sit, park the bus and take a point.”
And Cundy also reserved a rare bit of praise for United after their win over a stubborn Burnley team, saying it was the sort of performance that wins titles.
“I’ve seen Liverpool do it, I’ve seen Chelsea do it, I’ve seen City do it and now I’ve seen United do it – when you go away to places like Burnley and you’re trying to win a title, those three points are hard-fought, rarely do they come easy.
“There must be Liverpool fans slightly nervous now, I don’t believe any Liverpool fan who comes on this show and says they’re not,” said The Sports Bar host.
That’s according to talkSPORT hosts Jason Cundy and Andy Goldstein, who believe the Red Devils should be considered genuine title challengers this season after going three points clear at the summit.
“And I’ll tell you why, because they’re not three points off United now, and if City win their two games in hand – and they will, because City look fantastic – they’ll be two points behind City.
But Red Devils fan Goldstein says the pressure will be off his team for that clash, and believes – for the first time in a while – Liverpool should be fearful of their old foes.
