Liverpool’s transfer window is in full swing as the Reds prepare to build on this season’s Premier League success.
Both the arrivals and departure lounges are expected to be busy at Anfield, with early moves making up the bulk of the business.
The market officially opens on Sunday, and the first exit has already been confirmed; Trent Alexander-Arnold tying up a move to Real Madrid on Friday.
Alexander-Arnold‘s exit has been a point of contention for many months among Liverpool supporters, with the mood drastically turning against the local boy.
And although Alexander-Arnold was afforded a decent goodbye at Anfield on Sunday, resentment will linger at the manner of his departure.
But with fans upset and angry after the official announcement of the right-back’s move to Madrid, the official Liverpool X account provided something to lighten the mood.

As Alexander-Arnold embarks on a new chapter of his life and career, he will do so with little in the way of begrudging well-wishes from his former club.
Plenty of players have left Liverpool over recent years, many of them with gushing and emotive goodbye soliloquies.

At 11.26, Liverpool posted a rather more excitable update, featuring goalkeeper Alisson Becker holding the Premier League trophies as golden confetti rains down.
Put the two posts together, and it rather looks as though the Liverpool admin is celebrating Alexander-Arnold’s departure.
As Alexander-Arnold was all too keen to point out over recent days, he has been at the club for a long time.
However, that connection did not feel to be especially important to the Scouser as he quickly changed his social media biographies on Friday.
Even though a move to Madrid will not become official until Sunday, Alexander-Arnold could not wait to declare himself for Los Blancos.
Virtually the second the announcement of his departure was announced, the 26-year-old changed from ‘Liverpool FC’ to ‘Real Madrid’ on Instagram.
After all of the antics of the past year, Liverpool supporters may be celebrating to see the back of Alexander-Arnold, but it should never have come to this.
