Liverpool's final Premier League position has been predicted as the first international break of the season gets underway.

Dominik Szoboszlai scored the only goal of the game with a long-range free-kick to secure the three points for Liverpool.

The Reds will now look ahead to their return to top-flight action after the international break, where they will take on Burnley on September 14.

That will be followed by the start of the new Champions League season, which will begin with a home opener against Atletico Madrid.

Even though only three matches have been played, it's enough for Opta Analyst to make a prediction for how the final table will look.

They have crunched the numbers and believe that Liverpool will retain their Premier League crown.

The prediction believes that Liverpool will finish with 79 points (79.02) after 38 matches have been completed.

Liverpool signed Alexander Isak on deadline day but missed out on a deal to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.
