Emma Hayes' side were fresh off a Champions League semi-final to Barcelona, one which many felt they were unfortunate to lose.
It became just the third team in the last seven years to score four non-penalty goals against Chelsea (h/t Bass Tuned to Red).
It gives Liverpool a chance of jumping Manchester United into fourth before the end of the campaign.
But for Liverpool, the bigger story is the progress marker this represented, up against one of the best women's teams around.
Arne Slot 'to be denied transfer wish'
Slot is yet to be formally confirmed as the successor to Jürgen Klopp.
But it's expected that he will be named as the new Liverpool manager in due course.
Or, more correctly, he'll be made the new Liverpool 'head coach'.
